These in-wall speakers from California Audio Technology are not for the faint-hearted and have a whopping price tag of US$110,000 a unit. Like typical over-the-top American muscle cars, the powerful MBX system is fitted with a myriad of drivers to reproduce a massive amount of bass. Some of the highlights include three 22-inch and two 12-inch aluminum woofers, which are powered by separate amplifiers. These are further complemented by midrange drivers (a pair of 5.5-inch and dual 8.5-inch transducers) for dialog, as well as a single 1-inch neodymium tweeter dedicated to the treble end of the audio spectrum.

We've no doubt that this monstrosity mammoth can whip up a storm, but wonder if it has the dexterity and finesse of other renowned classics such as the Focal Grand Utopia EM.
